Wallace Program Chair of Prestigious Conference
The International Conference on Stochastic Programming was, for the first time, organized in Norway.
The XV International Conference on Stochastic Programming (ICSP) took place in Trondheim, on July 29 - August 2, 2019. The ICSP is the premier event of the Stochastic Programming Society (SPS), a technical session of the Mathematical Optimization Society that brings together researchers and practitioners who work on decisions under uncertainty. The conference gathered about 300 people presenting state-of-the-art works in this field as well as neighbouring scientific areas.
The programme committee was chaired by Stein W. Wallace, leader of the Centre for Shipping and Logistics of NHH. In addition, the programme committee was formed by Laureano Escudero, Suvrajeet Sen, Tito Homem-de-Mello, Shabbir Ahmed, and Asgeir Tomasgard.
The conference was preceded by a series of tutorials and a PhD school, where Wallace taught the doctoral course Modeling using stochastic programming. Other contributions from our group to the list of talks of the conference included works by Julio C. Goez, Yewen Gu, Mario Guajardo, Vit Prochazka, and Nahid Rezaeinia.
