CSL at the 15th CEMS Research Seminar in Austria
The 15th CEMS Research Seminar on Supply Chain Management took place in Riezlern, Austria, from January 17 to 21, 2018.
The seminar is the yearly event of the CEMS Faculty Group Logistics and has been running uninterrupted for 15 years. During this time, it has served as a venue for the discussion of a wide range of topics in supply chain management and logistics for PhD students and young and senior researchers. The Centre for Shipping and Logistics of NHH was represented this 2018 by the academics Mario Guajardo and Julio Góez, who contributed with presentations on sports scheduling and optimization software development.
This year edition included an industrial presentation by Ralf Heumann, Head of Corporate Supply Chain, Bayer AG, who discussed some of the Challenges in the Supply Chain of Life Science Industry. Also, 2018 had the second edition of the award to Best PhD Presentation. The winner was Catherine Decouttere, from KU Leuven, who gave a talk on A Dynamic Model of the End-to-End Vaccine Supply Chain: A focus on developing countries.
During the seminar it took place the annual meeting of the CEMS Faculty Group Logistics, where it was agreed that NHH’s Associate Professor Mario Guajardo will be the academic organizer of the 2019 seminar, with support of Petr Kolar from University of Economics, Prague, and the local organizers Andreas Schultze and Christian Rählmann from University of Cologne.
