Elected as an At-Large Member of the Management Council of the EEA

Aline Bütikofer has been elected as a new At-Large member of the Management Council of the European Economic Association.

The EEA operates under two main governing bodies: the General Assembly, comprising all individual members, and the Administrative Board. The General Assembly serves as the Association's primary legislative body, while the Administrative Board handles the day-to-day administration.

The Management Council oversees the Administrative Board’s work on behalf of the General Assembly, ensuring alignment with the Association’s broader objectives. The Council consists of up to 36 members, including the Administrative Board, and its members are elected by the EEA’s membership.

At-Large members, such as Aline Bütikofer, are chosen by the Council to serve as key contributors. In this role, Aline will attend the meetings of the Administrative Board, which is responsible for preparing and implementing decisions of both the Management Council and the EEA members. While At-Large members participate in all Administrative Board discussions, they hold no direct administrative authority. The Board itself is composed of the President, President-Elect, Vice President, Executive Vice President, and Executive Manager

She has been elected for 3 years. Her period lasts from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.

Aline’s election to this influential role reflects her contributions to the field and the confidence placed in her by her peers.
