Jarle Møen joins expert committee
Exemptions from VAT on repairs and second-hand goods have been a hot topic recent years. Now, NHH Professor Jarle Møen joins the committee that will examine VAT reductions for reuse.
Jarle Møen is Head of Department and Professor of applied econometrics at NHH, the Norwegian School of Economics. Møen has a Master of Science degree from London School of Economics and received his PhD at NHH in 2002. He has been a visiting fellow at Harvard University and a guest researcher at the NBER Productivity group. Møen was a Research Fellow in the Unit for Labour Market and Firm Behaviour in Statistics Norway from 1996 to 2010, and a member of the executive board of the Research Council of Norway from 2011 to 2018. He was also a member of the most recent Norwegian Tax Commission (NOU 2022:20).
Møen's research interests include business taxation, firm subsidies, R&D investments, knowledge spillovers and policy evaluation. He is the Deputy Head of the Norwegian Centre of Taxation and a member of the Nordic Tax Research Council. He has published in leading academic journals such as Management Science, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Labor Economics and Research Policy.
