How could the Nobel Prize be awarded for something as weird as auction theory?
Malin Arve and Eirik Gaard Kristiansen: Perhaps everybody has not considered that they actually have taken part in an auction.
Eirik Gaard Kristiansen was appointed Professor at the Department of Economics, NHH in 2007, where he also received his PhD in 1996.
Kristiansen’s main research interests are in the fields of economics of contracts, industrial organization, innovation, corporate governance and environmental economics. His current research focuses on how institutions and public policies shape market outcomes. He has published in top academic journals like Quarterly Journal of Economics, Rand Journal of Economics, Journal of Law and Economics, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Industrial Economics.
He has also worked as an advisor and Head of Research at the Central Bank of Norway from 1997 to 2001. Since 2011 he has been a Director of the Board of Enova. Enova is a public enterprise with a goal of triggering an environmental conversion in the consumption and generation of energy in Norway. He currently serves as Head of the Research Group “Law and Economics of Markets and Organization” (LEMO).

On Monday 11 May 2020 Ole-Andreas Næss will hold a trial lecture on a prescribed topic and defend his thesis for the PhD degree at NHH.
The Centre for Business Economics is a new research group at NHH which will focus on the functioning of firms, markets and organizations.
