Application pathways - two systems, one destination

The Bachelor in Business, Economics & Data Science programme at NHH Norwegian School of Economics accepts applications on an annual basis, with the programme commencing in August.

Applicants qualify if they meet all of the following criteria:

  • Higher education entrance qualification (upper secondary diploma), and
  • English language proficiency, and
  • Mathematical proficiency.

Application pathways

The correct application pathway (either I or II) depends on your qualifications and eligibility. Please identify the one that applies to you below.

PATHWAY I. Students who fulfil the Norwegian language requirement for admission to higher education in Norway, must apply through Samordna Opptak. This includes most students with a degree from one of the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and Finland), but can also apply to international degrees like the IB, UK qualifications (e.g. A Levels), EBAmerican high school etc.

Application period for the 2027/2028 academic year (programme starting in August 2027), through Samordna Opptak:

  • 1 February 2027 – 15 April 2027. Within Samordna Opptak, the programme is listed as a Master programme (5 years), Business, Economics and Data Science - siviløkonom. The documentation deadline is 1 July 2027 for uploading spring semester exam results and for secondary school graduates to submit their upper secondary school diploma. PATHWAY II. Other students apply directly to NHH. When you have logged in to our application portal, Søknadsweb, please select Bachelor of Science in Business, Economics and Data Science Autumn 2027 and submit your application.

Application period for the 2027/2028 academic year (programme starting in August 2027), through Søknadsweb:

  • Non-EU/EEA/Swiss¹ nationals: 1 November – 15 November 2026. The documentation deadline is 15 November 2026 (if applicable, the deadline for OMPT-F test results is 15 February 2027). 
  • EU/EEA/Swiss² nationals: 1 January – 15 February 2027. The documentation deadline is 15 February 2027.

¹Non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals are individuals with citizenship outside the EU/EEA/Swiss zone, and who are not eligible to apply through Samordna Opptak.
²EU/EEA/Swiss nationals are individuals with citizenship of a country in the EU/EEA/Swiss zone, and who are not eligible to apply through Samordna Opptak.

Deadlines and Key Dates

Non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals
1 November – 15 November 2026: Application period (including the submission of all required academic documentation). OMPT-F test results (if applicable): submit by 15 February 2027. 

EU/EEA/Swiss nationals
1 January – 15 February 2027:
- Submit application, test results, and diploma.
- If eligible for a conditional offer, submit official predicted grades and final grade reports by 15 February 2027. Upload your final diploma by 6 July 2027.

Samordna Opptak applicants
1 February – 15 April 2027: Application period. The documentation deadline is 1 July 2027 for uploading spring semester exam results and for secondary school graduates to submit their upper secondary school diploma.

All applicants
±15 May 2027: Application deadline housing for students with housing guarantee (this does not apply to Samordna Opptak applicants).

10 August 2027: Deadline to apply for deferment.

13 August 2027 (16:00-19:00 hrs): start Welcome Week for all international students

16-22 August 2027: Introduction programme Welcome Week.
