The policy conference on the transition from school to work among youth in Tanzania took place in Dar es Salaam, where FAIR researchers shared valuable insights on various topics within development economics.
The policy conference on the transition from school to work among youth in Tanzania brought together key stakeholders in Dar es Salaam to discuss innovative solutions to youth unemployment. Professors Vincent Somville and Kjetil Bjorvatn from NHH presented two impactful projects conducted in collaboration with the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) and HIP Edutainment.
Vincent Somville highlighted research findings from the Future Yangu project, which explores the role of audio podcasts and storytelling in guiding young people through the transition from secondary education to employment. Kjetil Bjorvatn shared insights from the Safe Kazini intervention, designed to create safer and more productive work environments for youth.
The event attracted representatives from government, NGOs, and schools, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and experiences aimed at addressing one of Tanzania's most pressing challenges.
