Jarle Møen joins expert committee
Exemptions from VAT on repairs and second-hand goods have been a hot topic recent years. Now, NHH Professor Jarle Møen joins the committee that will examine VAT reductions for reuse.
`We live in a society that discards resources we cannot afford to waste,´ said Climate Minister Andreas Bjelland Eriksen when he presented the government's new handlingsplanen for circular economy in mid-March.
The action plan identifies several priority areas that are important for a more sustainable future, from batteries and vehicles to packaging and textiles.
When the action plan was published, it was also announced that the government is establishing a separate expert group to investigate measures to promote circular activities.
Professor and department head at the Department of Business and Management Science, Jarle Møen, has been appointed as a member of the expert group. Adjunct Professor at NHH Ola Kvaløy is also member of the group, which is led by Brita Bye.
The expert group for the investigation of measures to promote circular activities will "look into which measures can promote circular activities to improve the utilization of renewable and non-renewable resources, sustainable production and consumption, and increased value creation. This involves identifying which measures are socio-economically profitable, and based on this, propose any changes in the current use of measures."
