Jonas Hammerschmidt

Jonas Hammerschmidt is an Assistant Professor at NHH Norwegian School of Economics, specializing in strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and organisational performance. His methodological expertise spans quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches, with a foundation in conducting systematic literature reviews, bibliometric analyses, and advancing conceptual frameworks. 

Jonas has a background in both academia and industry. During his PhD studies at LUT University, he worked in a leading role in professional football, where he applied his research insights in practical settings. Beyond academia, he has contributed to industry innovation, developing strategies for tech startups and guiding projects that integrate data analytics in professional sports. He is engaged in interdisciplinary and collaborative research projects, with a passion for bridging the gap between academic research and practical application. 

His research focuses on performance-oriented organizations, examining how they apply strategies to innovate and drive entrepreneurial initiatives. For instance, he has explored how the sport industry navigates challenges such as the COVID-19 crisis and adopts entrepreneurial strategies for success. Jonas also investigates how organisations innovate and drive entrepreneurial initiatives in areas like digitalisation and sportification, and how these efforts impact organisational performance. 

His work has been published in journals such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, Review of Managerial Science, and Journal of Small Business Strategy.
