
Corporate tax must increase to over 30 percent to cover wealth tax
Petter Bjerksund and Guttorm Schjelderup: The corporate tax rate must be raised to 28 percent if it is to finance the abolition of the entire wealth tax, and to over 30 percent if the combined corporate and dividend tax is to be kept at the current level.
Sylvi Listhaug, Erna Solberg and Guri Melby propose that all or part of the wealth tax must be removed to give the Norwegian economy the speed and robustness we need in uncertain times. One may be surprised by this proposal, because it is not supported by economic research, write NHH professors at the Center for Tax Research, Petter Bjerksund and Guttorm Schjelderup write.
