Does the world need only English technical language?
Jarle Møen: A country that does not have a living national technical language will not be able to conduct a well-informed public debate.
This is a response by Møen to the feature article (in Aftenposten on 3 October) by his NHH colleagues Arnt Ove Hopland and Aksel Mjøs, Forskinga må gå på engelsk (Research has to be in English).
One can always debate whether English should be used slightly more or less, but no one questions the importance of English as a research language. It is more interesting that Hopland and Mjøs do not see a single challenge with English as teaching language, Jarle Møen writes.
His opinion piece Trenger verden bare engelsk fagspråk? (in Norwegian) was published in Aftenposten on 14 October, 2021.
