Institutional perspectives on HRM

Bio

Frans Bévort, is an Associate professor at the Department of Organization, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. His research focuses on HRM, professions, AI, identity, narrative and paradox. Recent research projects: (1) the effect of AI on professional judgement and, (2) how the Nordic model of HRM influences organizational resilience. He has (co-) authored 10+ books and has published articles in journals such as International Journal of HRM, German Journal of HRM, Journal of Professions and Organization, International Studies of Management and Organization.

Abstract

HRM is a highly institutionalized organizational pratice which has been referred to in many classic institional theory text as an example of the way orgnizartions need to achieve legitimacy.  In the presetation I aill discuss how this status of HRM has affected HRM-practice and how it may develop in the future. I draw on a number of classic and also my own research.
