Abstract

R is one of the most popular programming languages nowadays and has become an alternative to traditional statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or Stata in many universities. NHH is teaching R for its students so it is the time now for faculties to be familiar with this powerful tool. In this seminar, we will be introduced to the most basic things about R such as what this language is, why it is popular and why it is so useful to learn it, as well as how to use it for different purposes. Note that this seminar is targeted at people with no prior knowledge about R. Other similar seminars with more advanced/specific topics (i.e. ANOVA, regression analysis, factor analysis using R, etc.) will follow later.
