We must also congratulate our former PhD students who can now call themselves doctors.

The Christmas lights are lit, and even without a single snowflake in sight on the Bergen sky, Christmas is approaching, and it's time for a Christmas letter.
We can look back on a very eventful year where we, in close collaboration with our partners, have participated in numerous events, workshops, seminars, conferences, and courses. This includes corporate workshops where we explored complex partnerships at Telenor, the implementation of AI strategies at Gjensidige, and efforts to promote digital inclusion at DIGDIR. Through these activities, we have created platforms for knowledge sharing and discussions on key topics in DIG's research agenda.
Among the highlights of the year are the publication of findings from the Norwegian Innovation Index at Innovation 2024 in February, and a very successful presence at Arendalsuka in August.
However, the definitive highlight of the year was the DIG Summit 2024: AI from Optimism to Realism! at NHH in November. Here, more than 100 participants gathered around inspiring keynote speakers, roundtable discussions, seminars, and the awarding of Rune Bjerke as this year's DIG Fellow.
On the research front, we can point to an increase in the number of publications in recognized academic journals and numerous contributions in various professional journals, books, and book chapters. In total, DIG researchers have delivered impressive results this year, with 17 publications. We have supervised 40 master's students through our DIG Deeper master's thesis program, which continues to grow year by year.
We must also congratulate our former PhD students who can now call themselves doctors.

We are strengthening our research agenda related to AI in Business and the Silver Economy. The AI track is followed up with a major application to the Research Council of Norway for funding of an AI centre. The application deadline is January 15, and a strong consortium of research institutions, companies, public partners, and international research organizations supports this application.
The Silver Economy team is researching and building knowledge together with DIG partners. We are working to increase research capacity and partnerships related to this topic.
DIG is continuously evolving to ensure relevance for our partners and Norwegian society in general. The DIG board plays a very important strategic role in this work, and I would like to extend a big thank you to the board for good cooperation.
A special thanks goes to Dagfinn Myhre from Telenor, who was chairman until the annual meeting in August, and to Rune Skjelvan from KPMG for taking over this important role. I look forward to continued cooperation in the years to come.
In the coming year, we have many exciting plans, including a number of events and activities, and a new DIG study trip for inspiration. We look forward to being present at Arendalsuka again and contributing to the public debate. Work on DIG Summit 2025 is already underway.
We welcome our new partner, the Knowledge Centre for Longer Working Life, to DIG and look forward to the collaboration ahead. We will also announce two new research positions that will strengthen DIG's research agenda.
We hope that Christmas comes early next year when DIG can hopefully lead a new Research Council centre initiative on AI for Business and Society.

We look forward to a new year filled with good conversations, inspiring meetings, and exciting projects. In the meantime, we wish all our partners, research colleagues, and contributors a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Best regards
