Tianyi Wang is an applied microeconomist with primary research interests in health and labor economics, political economy, and economic history. His work explores how technological innovations affect health and labor market outcomes, the relationship between public health interventions and mortality, as well as the political impacts of the media.

In his talk, Wang will present the first empirical evidence on the effects of Black radio on the political participation and activism in the South during the early 1960s.
