What is the current Covid-19 situation in Africa? According to the WHO, the number of Covid-19 related deaths on this continent is remarkably low, but can we trust these numbers? How does the pandemic and the policies to fight it affects the lives of normal people, the majority of whom live in rural areas? What is the effect on poverty, stress, and family life? How can governments and donors mitigate the negative impact on people’s livelihoods and personal wellbeing? Can cash grants be an effective tool?
In collaboration with BRAC Uganda, we have invited both practitioners and researchers to shed light on these questions, with a focus on the situation in Uganda.
Date and time (GMT + 1): December 4, 10:00-12:00
