workshop programme
This workshop consists of short lectures and practical exercises on scientific visualisations, with a focus on graphical abstracts. In the workshop the participants will be introduced to:
- What are graphical abstracts and what is the use for communicating my research?
- Where can I use graphical abstracts (beyond a publication)?
- How do I create graphical abstracts?
- How do I represent concepts that are not inherently visual?
- A step-by-step guide on how to create a graphical abstract, including dos and don’ts.
We will draw from graphic design knowledge on layout, typography and colour, define the steps in the design process of a graphical abstract that you can directly apply, compare software options for creating your designs, and explain what makes a graphical abstract effective.
The workshop will take place online (Zoom) on 13 November. The time (either 10:00–12:00 or 13:00–15:00) will be chosen based on the preferences of those who have registered.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain practical tips and inspiration on how to create graphical abstracts that will make your research stand out!
