In Norway, the responsibility for research ethics in the social sciences and the humanities is delegated to the researchers and the research institutions in accordance with principles of academic freedom and institutional autonomy.
To support this work, The National Committee for the Social Sciences and the Humanities (NESH) provides guidelines and other resources. The purpose of this presentation is to give an outline of the Norwegian system and the content of the guidelines, thus making it easier to conduct responsible research.
