Abax is a fund management business 75% owned by employees and three charitable trusts. All Abax employees are shareholders.

AMG, a global asset management company with interests in leading fund management boutiques around the world, owns 25%.

What may you do and get at Abax :

• An introduction to the South African financial markets, the various role players, the specific role played by the investment management industry and how Abax Investments fits into it all.
• An overview of Abax Investments as a firm and the various client mandates that we offer.
• Meet and understand the business with various members of the team and get an understanding of the various specialist roles within the team and how it all fits together.
• Depending on their specific interest / area of study look to have them settle into one (or more) of the specialist functions within the firm to get a deeper and more detailed understanding of that work.
• Be involved with the day-to-day operations and decision making and admin process behind the trading and portfolio management of the specific mandate type they display interest in.
• Get involved in the detail of a specific area of work / project that their abilities and energy can add value to.
• Likely also be given general projects to work on across various parts of the business on an ad hoc basis and where their time and abilities can be constructively used.
