DIGDeeper skills seminar
Earlier in March, the DIGDeeper Master’s Thesis Programme Spring 2025 hosted its Skills Seminar, a cornerstone of our commitment to equipping students with advanced research and analytical capabilities.
This session brought together master’s students and PhD researchers from the Department of Strategy and Management (SOL), facilitating an engaging exchange of knowledge and critical thinking.
At DIG, we believe that learning is most impactful when students are empowered to navigate complexities with expert guidance. Throughout the seminar, PhD scholars served as mentors, guiding students in refining their methodologies, tackling research challenges, and shaping the analytical depth of their theses. Discussions ranged from case study methodologies to grounded theory approaches, ensuring that each student left with a more structured path forward.
The impact of the session was evident in the reflections shared by participants:
“I felt a bit lost, and I don’t feel like I have an overview of all the possibilities. This discussion really helped me see which methodology fits best for my thesis.”
Another student added:
“We just want to see how different age groups look at each other and how they interpret situations. Now I think we have a much clearer way forward.”
One particularly resonant takeaway was the realization that methodology is not just a framework but a strategic choice, as a participant reflected:
“The terms are confusing, but I get why. It really depends on what we want to do with the data.”
The seminar reaffirmed the value of peer learning, academic collaboration, and structured guidance in the research process. As we look ahead to the next phases of the programme, we remain committed to fostering an environment where students can develop the skills, confidence, and critical perspectives needed for impactful research.
