DIG corporate workshop: AI from Strategy to Implementation

The DIG Corporate workshop: “AI from Strategy to Implementation”, was organized in collaboration with our strategic partner Gjensidige. At the workshop we sought to explore the journey of artificial intelligence (AI), from a strategic viewpoint to its practical application in organizations.

The workshop opened with a warm welcome from DIG's leader, Professor Bram Timmermans, who introduced an NHH-led initiative titled "AI for Business and Society".

Potential and pitfalls

He discussed the potential and the pitfalls of AI, suggesting that AI would likely raise the “floor” of organizational capabilities, rather than the “ceiling”, emphasizing the importance of lifting the work capacity of those with lower education levels more than those with higher levels. This approach aims to reduce disparities in performance among different groups of employees.

The discussion also touched on how AI could bring about efficiency gains and how we might extract value from it.

Furthermore, the growing importance of partnerships and alliances in navigating this AI journey was emphasized.

Gjensidige underscored the necessity of investments to fully leverage the potential of AI, both in terms of enhancing skills and adopting new technology.

Additionally, they highlighted their active search for top-notch analysts as part of their commitment to embracing AI.

Posten Bring shared their perspective on AI as a strategic tool to achieve organisational goals, as well as the steps they are taking towards becoming a data-driven corporation.

The workshop also discussed the legal and infrastructure considerations surrounding AI, an issue of particular relevance to those in the tax sector.

Teamwork session

A highlight of the event was the teamwork session led by Jarle Hildrum from Deloitte, where participants had the opportunity to engage in collaborative work with AI.

The day concluded with Professor Therese Egeland sharing insights on knowledge transfer in the AI era and its impact on teamwork.

We thank Gjensidige for their excellent hosting of the workshop, and also everyone who contributed to a day filled with exciting discussions and insightful learnings.
