New rector’s team in place at NHH
Macro-economist and professor Øystein Thøgersen has his first day as rector of NHH today.
‘I am really looking forward to getting to grips with the challenges,’ says Thøgersen.
Thøgersen is the first rector to be appointed by NHH, after the school’s Board decided last year to change its governance model from an elected to an appointed rector. The new rector’s team has high ambitions for NHH.
‘One of our most important ambitions is to be at the forefront as regards the education we offer. We will develop new courses and new educational methods. The keywords here are digitalisation and entrepreneurship. NHH also wants to produce more research groups of top international standard.’
Thøgersen’s first official duty will be to officiate at the matriculation of new students on 14 August. Minister of Defence Ina Eriksen Søreide will also be present and will address the students.
‘We haven’t really started until they are in place. NHH is incredibly fortunate to have so many capable students. I plan to have close contact with them,’ says Thøgersen.
The new deputy rectors at NHH are:
- Linda Nøstbakken. Deputy Rector for Education and the rector’s deputy. Professor at the Department of Economics.
- Helge Thorbjørnsen. Deputy Rector for Research. Professor at the Department of Strategy and Management.
- Therese E Sverdrup. Deputy Rector for Innovation and Development. Associate Professor at the Department of Strategy and Management.
