"Based on the main themes of the mandate, the committee will provide an overall assessment of the societal benefits and disadvantages of nuclear power as a potential production technology in Norway compared to other developments in the Norwegian power supply. The assessment will include possible ripple effects of nuclear power in Norway, including the potential for employment, industrial development, and new value chains. The societal assessments will also highlight the ethical aspects of establishing nuclear power and how the issue of societal acceptance can influence the evaluation of the potential for nuclear power in Norway," writes the government in its mandate.
