Conference on sustainable ocean resources
THE OCEAN deals with innovations and new collaborations within the sustainable use of ocean resources. `The conference provides a perfect meeting ground to discuss and develop new ideas´ says Linda Nøstbakken.
The conference THE OCEAN is a new arena for sustainable, value-added and competitive solutions and partnerships across the ocean industries and academic institutions. NHH is one of 14 organizing partners. The conference takes place 17 September in Bergen.
Secure sustainability
Vice rector for academic affairs at NHH, Professor Linda Nøstbakken, believes that collaboration across disciplines and industries is crucial for developing a sustainable use of ocean resources.
`Our future depends on the state of the oceans. To secure sustainability, we need ambitious, passionate and highly skilled people who can work together and find the best ways to balance healthy ecosystems with our need to harvest resources from the sea´, says Nøstbakken.
Solveig Holm, leader of THE OCEAN´s steering group and Senior Advisor in NCE Seafood Innovation Cluster, agrees:
`We need to collaborate to meet our shared challenges and explore new opportunities in the use of our ocean resources´, says Holm.
