Learning outcomes
After completing the programme, candidates are expected to have achieved the following overall learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge
The candidate has in-depth knowledge of:
- strategic analysis of organisations and the environments and markets they operate in, including from a sustainability perspective
- macroeconomics and microeconomics
- the design and use of financial management systems
- management systems
- different management and information systems
- technological development and innovation
- change and development processes in organisations and important preconditions for ensuring their successful implementation
- the international perspective, including globalisation and management in a global market (intercultural understanding)
Skills
The candidate is capable of:
- applying analysis models and methods to be able to understand and predict changing economic, technological, legal, social and political conditions and understanding how they influence national and international markets
- finding and applying different sources of information such as public statistics, annual reports, customer and market data as well as research data
- choosing relevant models and methods for use in the organisations' internal strategy work, including planning, facilitating, implementing and evaluating strategy processes
- initiating and conducting an independent research project under the supervision of academic resource personnel within the fields covered by the MBA programme, in accordance with applicable research ethics standards
- developing practical approaches to planning, leading and evaluating change processes in organisations
General competence
The candidate is capable of:
- using tools introduced in the different parts of the programme and understanding the relationships between them so that the knowledge and skills acquired can be applied to new, but related, issues
- making analytical use of theoretical models and tools in work on practical issues in his/her respective organisation
- presenting and discussing professional issues and analyses with employees, fellow managers and other parties he/she cooperates with
- making an active contribution to and taking responsibility for fresh thinking and innovation processes in his/her own organisation and being a resource in the field in relation to clients, partners or owners
