Trond Bjørnenak has been a professor of Management Accounting since 2000. He received his PhD degree from NHH in 1994. Bjørnenak’s main research interest has been on the design and diffusion of Management Accounting Systems, and he has published a number of articles and books in this area, among them five articles in Management Accounting Research. He has received the Shell Research Award, and been appointed an honorary fellow at Edinburgh University. He is also at the Editorial board of Management Accounting Research. In addition, Bjørnenak has served at a number of Boards in public and private institutions, including Sørlandet sykehus (hospital), Cultiva, Sparebanken Pluss and Sparebanken Sør. He is also the program director for the Executive program in Management Control and heavily involved in the bachelor and master program at NHH. In 2013 he received the NHH award for excellence in teaching and he has won the Students NHH Best teacher award three times. Trond Bjørnenak is currently the Head of Department at the Department of Accounting Auditing and Law.
