BIOGRAPHY
Eirik Vatne has been a professor since 1996, arriving from a position as a senior researcher at the Centre for Applied Research (SNF). He received his dr.oecon. degree from NHH in 1995.
Vatne’s main research interests are in the field of economic geography and firm-based studies of location, agglomeration and regional development. He has a special interest in the spatial evolution of the Norwegian petroleum industry, the location of rapid growth firms and innovation processes and innovation systems in the service industry. He has published a number of reports, journal articles, book chapters and edited books in these areas.
