MEYER APPOINTED CHAIR OF THE EXPERT COMMITTEE
NHH professor Christine B. Meyer will chair a committee appointed by the Government tasked to write a report on women’s health and health from a gender perspective.
Christine Meyer is Professor in Strategic Change at NHH Norwegian School of Economics and has considerable experience from top positions in public administration and politics. Her research interests are within the area of mergers and acquisitions, strategy formulation and implementation, strategic change and innovation, and qualitative process studies.
Christine holds a Ph.D. from NHH from 1996 and was appointed full professor in 2007. From 1999 to 2001 she was vice-rector for international affairs at NHH. Then she took a step into politics and served as a junior minister in the Norwegian government from 2001 to 2003. She returned to academia before once again taking a political position as commissioner for Finance and then Health and Social Services in her home city Bergen from 2007 to 2011. In 2011 she took office as the General Director for Competition and stayed for four years until she became the General Director for Statistics Norway in 2015. Christine returned to academia in 2017.
Christine´s academic work reflect a long term interest in strategic and organizational change both as an academic and as a politician and top manager. Recently, she has become more focused on how technological change affects organizations and how to formulate strategies and implement change processes in public organizations.
Her work has appeared in Journal of International Business Studies, British Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, Long Range Planning, Organizational Dynamics and Journal of Change Management.
