  The Norwegian Shipowners’ Associations Fund at NHH

  The Norwegian Shipowners’ Associations Fund at NHH invites applications from students and staff at NHH. There are three annual deadlines, 1 February, 1 May and 1 November.

  Grants may be awarded for purposes that are in accordance with the fund`s articles of association “Research and education at NHH in favor of such activities that are conducted by the members of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association.

  The main purpose is to encourage activity and involvement in research related to shipping economics and greater interaction with the shipping industry.

  Purposes for which grants may be awarded include:

  • Master theses on relevant issues.
  • Travel and study grants for academically excellent NHH students.
  • New research initiatives.
  • Academic events such as conferences, seminars and information activities about education and research within shipping economics or other relevant topics.
  • Grant for study trips abroad for academic staff affiliated with NHH, with the aim of establishing international contacts and ensuring the transfer of knowledge to Norway.

  Content of the application

  • Presentation of applicant and the purpose of the application (approx. one A4 page)
  • Amount, budget and time schedule. For applications related to master thesis a budget is not necessary. Master thesis is supported by (2 students) NOK 20 000.
  • Plan for dissemination
  • For students grading transcripts and letter of recommendation are required. (Please remove social security number from grade transcript before submission.)
  • Students who write their master thesis together must submit only one application form.

  Applications must be submitted within the deadline one of the three annual application deadlines, 1 February, 1 May and 1 November.
