Four faculty members promoted to full professor
Malin Arve, Steffen Juranek, Eirik Sjåholm Knudsen and Vincent Somville have been promoted to full professor at NHH Norwegian School of Economics.
Vincent is a development economist with an interest in behavioral economics and experimental methods. He is currently working in Tanzania on the transition from schools to the labor market, and on public finance policies. In the past, Vincent led a project about banking and microfinance in India and was working on savings, credit and insurance groups in Benin, and poverty in Nepal.
Vincent got his Phd from Namur-Louvain in Belgium and he previously worked as an expert in economic analysis and health policies for the Belgian Government and as a lecturer at the Louvain School of Management. He is also an Associated Senior Researcher at the Chr. Michelsen Institute.

The Research Council of Norway has funded a 4 year long project on VAT compliance in Tanzania. The project is led by Odd-Helge Fjeldstad (CMI) and is hosted by CMI. Among the team members are Vincent Somville from FAIR and Ingrid Hoem Sjursen affiliated with FAIR.

François Libois and Vincent Somville have published "Fertility, household size and poverty in Nepal" in World Development. In the paper they study how fertility affects household size, composition and poverty in Nepal.
Can supporting pre-school education improve educational outcomes for the children and business development for the mothers? A new FAIR project in Uganda will address these issues.
The project ”Child care for childhood and business development” has recieved a grant of 10 million NOK from the Research Council of Norway.
